Nivolumab Combination Therapy for the Treatment of Unresectable Advanced or Metastatic Oesophageal Squamous Cell Carcinoma

چکیده

Oesophageal cancer (OC) is the seventh most common malignancy worldwide, and there are few effective treatment options for advanced OC. Fluoropyrimidine platinum-based chemotherapy has been standard first-line oesophageal squamous cell carcinoma (OSCC) but survival outcomes poor. Therefore, a need to develop new, more drugs. Immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) have emerged as new several malignancies. Nivolumab, human monoclonal immunoglobulin G4 antibody that inhibits programmed death protein-1, developed of OSCC. Nivolumab monotherapy demonstrated clinical efficacy safety in patients with OSCC ATTRACTION-3 trial, was approved by United States Food Drug Administration later-line previously treated OSCC, regardless protein-1 ligand expression status. Recently, CheckMate 648 trial both an ICI combination chemotherapy, dual combination, This review discusses current status nivolumab therapy future perspectives.

Locally Advanced, Unresectable Squamous Cell Carcinoma of the Gallbladder

Primary squamous cell carcinoma (SCC) of the gallbladder is a rare malignancy of the gallbladder, accounting for less than 5% of gallbladder pathology. Initial presentation is often similar to adenocarcinoma of the gallbladder. SCC tends to be more locally aggressive, however, and possesses a worse prognosis than adenocarcinoma. We report a case of locally advanced SCC of the gallbladder.

Squamous Cell Differentiation in Metastatic Papillary Thyroid Carcinoma: Metaplastic

Squamous cell differentiation (SCD) may occur in papillary thyroid carcinoma (PTC) only at metastatic sites. We have studied cytokeratin CK5/6 and P63 along with TTF1 (thyroid transcription factor 1)  and B-Raf (V-Raf murine sarcoma viral oncogene homolog B1) immunohistochemical expression in neck lymph node metastases of thyroid PTC showing SCD. The patient (21-years) presented wit...

The Cancer Stem Cell Hypothesis in Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma: A New Target for the Treatment

Within a single tumor clone, cells have significantly different abilities to proliferate and form new tumors. This has led to the hypothesis that most cells in a cancer have a limited ability to divide and only a small subset of distinct cells, the cancer stem cells (CSCs), has the capacity to self-renew and form new tumors . It has been proposed that the development of tumors is based exclusiv...

Metastatic Merkel cell carcinoma response to nivolumab

BACKGROUND Merkel cell carcinoma (MCC) is an aggressive cutaneous neuroendocrine malignancy with limited treatment options. Several lines of evidence support the programmed death-1/programmed death-ligand 1 (PD-1/PD-L1) axis as a likely contributor to immune evasion in MCC. CASE PRESENTATION We report a case of a patient with metastatic MCC with a significant and durable response to nivolumab...

Cisplatin, Methotrexate and Bleomycin for Advanced Recurrent or Metastatic Penile Squamous Cell Carcinoma

Objective: This study aimed to evaluate the efficacy and toxicity of cisplatin, methotrexate, and bleomycin (CMB) chemotherapy in patients with advanced, recurrent, or metastatic penile squamous cell carcinoma (PSCC). Methods: The CMB regimen was administered to 12 patients with advanced (n=7), recurrent (n=4), or metastatic (n=1) PSCC. Patients received a total of 21 cycles of CMB between 2002...
